Korean Rumors(?): T1's Roster for 2022

2021.11.29 18:24 miragechaser Korean Rumors(?): T1's Roster for 2022

I don’t know how accurate these rumors are, so please take everything with a grain of salt. These may be half true or not even close to the truth, but 한상용 (I believe he used to be a coach for Griffin, and makes LCK related content now) released this Youtube video regarding T1’s 2022 roster: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=99U2cntqxXo
The reason I say rumors is because I can’t find any information other than this one Youtube video talking about this information, even though he seems to say this information is confirmed. He appears to be using a Discord conversation from Joe Marsh as his source. (I have no clue how he knows this is the real Joe Marsh)
Player Roster: (0 new added players, Asper is being called up from T1 Challengers. Joe Marsh has also denied TheShy acquisition rumors through this Twitter and liked tweets supporting Zeus)

Coach roster:
군 kind of means type/group. So because Moment and Bengi are 1군 coaches, I think he means that they will be the assistant coaches under Polt. Roach apparently is an 2군 coach, which means he’s a level below Moment and Bengi. Because Hajin, the player development coach left this year, I predict he may fill that role.
Another piece of information he mentions in this video is that they have until 12/21 to confirm their roster with Riot, because they have a Riot even on 12/22. So this may not be confirmed until then, and there may still be changes made (if these rumors are supposedly true). He also said there's an event where Keria, Oner, and Zeus are going to be meeting aespa (the K-pop girl group).
TLDR; There are no new player acquisitions, Zeus will be filling the top lane role with Canna gone. Asper will be joining the main roster from the T1 Challengers team as a player-coach (he plays support). Coaches will be Polt (Main coach), Moment, Bengi, and Roach.

2021.11.29 18:24 Mundane-Ad-3213 How I have $300K at age 26

I'm 26, male, work in gov/policy in Syd and salary is $120K. Came from public housing, public schooling, first generation uni, both parents overseas.
Current NW of $300K w/ no debt and $20K in HECS to pay off.
I currently have $300K ish with no debt at age 26. This includes ~85% in shares and 15% cash. My shares are in VAS and VGS. I have only about $20K hecs debt to pay off. I currently pay $150/wk to live with my parents with all expenses covered except public transport. My father is unemployed and mother is a receptionist who earns $50K a year. I fully acknowledge that because I live with my parents, I am probably privileged (like many of my friends), and that not all of you will have this luxury. However, I sitll think t here are things I did and continue to do which may help a lot of people.
SO here are my tips - and feel free to comment or shares yours too. I hope to help those of you to build net worth as well and if you can benefit somehow thats good. This is not a flex or anything like that.
I could afford a house with a mortgage if I wanted to but decided to get into shares seeing as Im only paying $150/wk on board anyway.
TIP 1: Find a cheap, sustainable hobby
Go on twitch.tv , find any popular game you enjoy watching. Spend all of your free time playing it. This sounds super counter-productive, but you will also see that it's cheaper than going out for drinks with your mates, going out to movies, doing friday night parties, etc. For example:
Me = $59 for second hand Call of Duty game.
My friend = $1000 = $50+ every Friday night 20 times a year. Continuing every year. Over 3 years thats $3000.
If you can get addicted to a game I think that is a good thing. Currently I play a lot of Halo: Infinite in my spare time. It's a free game that literally just came out a few weeks ago. Great fun to play on weekends and after and before work. Make sure that you can control your time though.. maybe not so much of an addiction but you get the point. If you have free time you are better off doing something really inexpensive.
Over the last 10 years I've usually stuck to a handful of 3-4 good games. Only about $240 in cost overall, which beats spending $1000 a year going out for parties and having fun the traditional way.
TIP 2: Use cash
I leave my card at home in a drawer. Every time I want to make a purchase I'll use cash. Why? Because every time money changes hand you feel the personal loss of losing money. You will not make impulse purchases ever. If you need to use your card I would only use it for substantial purchases eg anything $1500+ such as buying a phone, a computer, a car, etc. This should be reserved for substantial occasions maybe 3-4 times a year.
If you are literally going out to refuel your car, buy some lollies, buy some games and other stuff just carry cash. Teaches you good discipline. Don't believe me? Think about all the stupid purchases youve made using your card on a last minute basis. Add those costs up over the course of your entire spending history. And thats how much youve saved. Id bet its at least a few hundred dollars.
TIP 3: Focus on work
The idea of generating passive income is great. But you should also combine it with active income. You should try to secure full-time work and excel in the role. At 26 I earn about $120K a year which I would say is fairly good (but I do know friends who make $300K+ in investment banking overseas etc).
On the other hand I have friends who work 10-20 hours a week casual or part-time. Not that much money to be hard, and irregular hours is no good. The majority of my net worth has come from working hard, saving at a young age and pure discipline.
There is no way to get rich without hard work BUT I know there are exceptions to this rule. Still, if you are reading this you are probably not the exception. You can easily increase your salary by $10K - $20K a year if you get promoted or look for other work.
I currently work full-time in gov/policy and I do every 2nd weekend on saturday flipping stuff on Gumtree (every 1st weekend saturday is just spent on playing video games).
Passive income is great but I feel that a lot of people particularly with not that much money get carried away by it. You are better off trying to develop yourself and getting promoted at work and/or looking for another job that pays better. Passive income streams take a long time to develop unless you know w hat you are doing.
Active income helps you generate passive income. How? Next year I expect to be promoted to another role which will enable me to earn $145K a year. This is literally $25K more money. $25,000. Thats a lot. So I'll probably just invesst all of it in VGS and VAS and let it do its magic. I actively earnt my income, now I'll let it passively grow. See how that works? They are not mutually exclusive.
TIP 4: Live with your parents, or if you can't, try to find a small and cheap apartment
Not the cool thing to do, but better than paying a landlord $250+ a week, plus all expenses. If you can live with your parents this is a huge benefit as it allows you to save a huge amount of capital in a year. If you are good you can probably save like a good $30K - $60K a year - a substantial chunk of a house deposit for those looking to get into the housing market.
Living at home, I'm only ever in my room, which is about 3.5m x 3.5m big anyway. Not that big. There are bigger apartments even that you can find. Maybe a few hundred a week. No point getting a $550/wk house. Cut the cost, take the sacrifice and try to save. Again, I know it is easy for me to say but if I wasnt living with parents, there is no way I would live in a big house or big apartment. Small is the way to go.
$250/wk x 52 = $13K
$550/wk x 52 = $28.6K
Difference saved = $15,600
TIP 5: Control your expenses
Friend invited me for a coffee the other day. "It's only two bucks," he says. Said friend is in about $30K debt paying off a car, with approx $5K savings in bank.
A coffee is not just $2. It's $2 multiplied by however many coffees you buy. Does anyone ever buy a single coffee? No. People have their once or twice a day.
So $10 a week. Times it by 40working weeks = $480.
I've drank coffee maybe 5 times in my life and I hated it. If you are addicted you are better off trying to cut the addiction somehow. $480 a year is a lot of money. And it continues every single year. $960... $1440... and it keeps going.
Teach yourself some discipline. Here's a funny one.
Look up the marshmellow test.

Think about that. If you are reading this you are probably in your 20s or 30s. Personal finance is basically the marshmellow test. Can you put in short-term sacrifice & pain for long-term gain? Or are you like my friend who buys coffees every day, spends out his entire fortnightly pay, builds up debt (as opposed to income-producing assets) and complains about housing prices?
I am NOT saying that all of this is easy. It takes HARD work. I am privileged and I acknowledge that, but there were also disadvantages I faced gr owing up and thigns I did to get me to where I am today.
Maybe set yourself some goals. $10K at a time. Or even $10K a year.
Good luck.

This... is like a whole new game... It's effin phenomenal! Video games lack in size reference, the hugest item never feels big on screen, but VR changes that. These items really come to life in VR, thisnis epic! May need to form an (adult) VR only room.

2021.11.29 18:24 actualhumanwaste Is ranked really fun for anyone else but depressingly silent?

I lately started having a thought to myself that goes like "would I even realize if I were playing with bots right now" and the answer 9/10 times is no I wouldn't. Even in ranked games you're lucky if 1 person is on the mic, most of the time it's you giving callouts to silence. In quick play or BTB you can forget about anyone talking unless it's one dude mic spamming or talking to his friends in discord.

I'm not that old so I don't really remember the golden days of halo 3 & 2 multiplayer, but I do remember playing a lot of cs:go competitive early/mid 2010s. People would actually talk shit post-game and there's a good chance you'd find a good team to play like 3-4 games with that day. A lot of funny memories happened as well since people just interacted more and were more talkative in-game. Discord wasn't really a thing then (Teamspeak was used a lot more) so that could of had a part in it.

In infinite (and most modern FPSs I'd imagine) you get none of that. You're lucky if you're not the only one doing callouts and the automatic lobby breakups/un-intuitive way of adding people after games (at least on the steam version) makes it so that you're solo queuing all day. Post-game shit talking isn't even possible since the opposing team will never hear you.

I know the phrase "be the change you want to see" applies here but it's so hard to start talking in a silent lobby, especially if you're introverted like me. It's a lot easier to jump in an already talkative lobby than it is to start saying shit to muted mics and hoping someone joins you. I'm early 20's and already having that "gaming was so much better in my days" feeling when I really shouldn't be. Sigh.

2021.11.29 18:24 FuckStummies Some lessons I have learned that I hope could be useful

I'm in my 40's and I've been in the work force since I was literally a kid. Over that time I've learned some things the hard way and picked up a few along the way so I hope this might help some of you younger workers out there.

  1. "No." is a complete answer. "Can you come in to work this evening?" No, I'm sorry I am unavailable. Don't go into a whole explanation of why. You are not obligated to provide any more information or justification beyond that.
  2. HR is not your friend. Human Resources has one function: to protect the company. They are not there to help you. They are not there to protect your interests. They will not advocate for you. They will side with management/the organization every time.
  3. Document everything. Never rely on verbal agreements or permissions for ANYTHING. Ask for a vacation day? Permission to do something that's non-standard procedure? Get it in writing. You don't have to be obvious about it - just follow up a conversation with an email. "I just wanted to confirm the details of what we spoke about earlier regarding..." Save these things in a folder.
  4. Management gets the union it deserves. If the union is particularly aggressive or present in a workplace, that's usually because it has to be. An adversarial union environment is because management made it that way.
  5. A union is only as strong as you make it. Most union locals are made up of volunteers who are just other workers like yourself. If your workers are apathetic, the union will be weak. A strong union requires solidarity amongst the workers.
  6. Never be too good at any job. They'll never promote you if you are. I've also heard this as "Never be too good at a bad job" but my experience is that it's more broad than that. Basically if you make management feel like you're indispensable in your current role, they'll just keep you there as long as they possibly can. They won't promote you because you're likely already doing the work of the job above you without getting paid for it. So why pay you more when they don't have to. It's a tough balance. I'm not saying be lazy, but you just have to make sure you don't show all your cards when it comes to working to your potential.

2021.11.29 18:24 loveislanduk Should I be worried?

Im completely new to the admissions process, and don’t have anyone that I know very well who has been through it. I applied to most of the t14 as well as UT, Vandy, and WUSTL. I’ve been waitlisted from UVA and Cornell, and received an email from GULC saying my decision was deferred after interviewing. Additionally, I interviewed for WUSTL almost two months ago, and did the alumni interview with Vandy last month and I haven’t heard anything from them. Should I apply to more schools as a safety net? I am worried by the amount of people that are getting acceptances, when it’s seems like all I’m getting are waitlists and radio silence. I’m not sure when is too early to start freaking out.

2021.11.29 18:24 Argument_Creepy 16, alcoholic and want to kill myself.

i am so tired of doing my best at everything. pouring my heart out studying for a maths exam and then having the teacher fuck us over with things that are way more complicated than what he prepared us for.
but thats just a minor inconvenience although my life revolves around school and studying. its all i do, think and talk about.
the thing that’s bothering me the most is my crippling loneliness. i am in so much need of emotional and mental support which i am not provided with whatsoever.
see, Einstein would have never been an amazing scientist without his mothers support.
i just want a friend by my side, that will listen and care about me. i care about everyone around me. i care too much. i have so much to offer. but no one treats you the way you deserve to be treated. i am sick of being treated like a fucking robot. why does every adult in my life think that i have extraordinary energy? just because im young? wtf? i need a fucking break. im so done with dumbass fucking ignorant adults treating me like im less of a human than them. like fuck you. seriously. just because you lived for a little longer than i did does not mean you deserve more respect than me. i didnt choose to be born. i hate my generation. they’re all superficial idiots. the dumbest gen so far. jesus.
i dont want to live anymore. hope i die from alcohol poisoning. thank you.
